Edward A. Ruiz, MD
My medical career began in Detroit, Michigan where I spent many Saturdays and Sundays making rounds with my father, a cardiologist at the time. He helped teach me the kindness and compassion it takes to be an excellent physician. I continued my medical career, graduating from Michigan Sate University with a Bachelors degree in physiology and becoming a personal exercise trainer. As an exercise trainer, I worked with people in attaining their health goals and furthered my passion to becoming a family practitioner. Since moving to the desert with my wife Dr. Erica Ruiz and our two children, I have noted a passion in this community in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. With my background in training, I look forward to serving this community as a family medicine physician.
Erica M. Ruiz, MD
On my return to the Coachella valley, I am brought back to the days when my grandfather, Dr. Richard Huffer, served the community as a general practitioner. Now I have the same chance to practice medicine in a supportive community that helped in my upbringing as a youth. It is exciting to not only have the chance to practice medicine, but to raise my own children with the pride of the desert area. I am excited to meet you and look forward to working with you towards your healthiest life yet.

Select “liquid” if the layout should automatically resize to fill the browser window. Choose “fixed” if the layout’s width should always remain the same.

Horizontal Position

Select the justification (position on x-axis) that your design should have in the browser window.

Header / Footer Width

Select “liquid” if you’re the header and footer should automatically resize to fill the browser window. Choose “fixed” if the width of the header and footer should always remain the same.

Vertical Position

Select the vertical justification (position on y-axis) that your design should have in the browser window.

Coding Options Total: $0

Take control of compatibility, accessibility, typography, semantics, standards / compliance and imagery preferences using the options below.

Compatibility / Accessibility

Some projects simply don’t require compatibility with all major browsers. When these options aren’t selected you can expect the work to be finished even more quickly.

Safari 2 / 3 Compatibility

Select yes below and we will verify that the code is verified to render consistently in Safari 2 & 3.

Opera Compatibility

Select yes below and we will verify that the code is verified to render consistently in Opera 9.

Mobile Device Compatibility

Select yes below and we will verify that the code is verified to render as consistently as possible on devices you must specify in the comments section.

Screen Reader Compatibility

Select yes below and we will verify that the code is verified to be fully accessible in the screen readers you specify in the comments section.

Web Content Accessibility Guidelines

A set of guidelines provided by the World Wide Web Consortium, these overlap with our own mobile and screen reader compatibility options however ours are more practical and up-to-date. If a specific version of the guidelines is to be followed please specify it in the comments section.

Section 508 Compliance

Typically a requirement for United States government agencies, select this option if disability compliance is required. In general, this option is rarely needed due to the techniques we use, but it’s shown here for those looking for it.

Disability Discrimination Act Compliance

Required in the United Kingdom only, select this option to ensure that accessibility to blind or otherwise disabled users.

FIR Implementation

Select yes below if the Fahrner Image Replacement technique should be used to improve accessibility of an image-rich design. Please specify where you feel this technique may be relevant in the comments section.

Typography (Font Usage)

sIFR Implementation

Shaun Inman Flash Replacement is a reliable technique for implementing non-web fonts in your web page without using images, sacrificing accessibility for search engines and other browsers that don’t have JavaScript enabled or images disabled (like mobile phones often do). Select if you use non-web fonts in your headings etc and want to maintain a polished look without sacrificing accessibility.

Relative Font Sizes

Where usability is of greatest importance, this option is vital. Instead of fixed font sizes which prevent some web browsers from adjusting font sizes based on user preferences, this option makes sure that if users do choose sizes other than the default, that your layout remains consistent in all cases.

Usability

Anchor Effects

We generally use the "sprites technique" for menus or navigation that does not use web fonts or contains a design treatment that is not trivial. As for text-based anchors change this option to no if you don't want us to implement these classes for you.

$0

Drop Down / Fly-out (DHTML) Menu Navigation

Indicate if a CSS & JavaScript menu navigation should be implemented. You may also want to select a preferred JavaScript Library in the advanced options section and leave us comments about this selection in the comments box.

CSS

W3C Valid Shorthand

We make sure that not only is the code World Wide Web Consortium compliant, but the code is also optimized for reduced selector use, file size and advanced use of semantics.

W3C Standard

Currently 2.1 of the cascading style sheet standard is the most widely supported and capable version. Select 1 or 2 only if you have specific needs that require those versions.

$0

Comments

Notes are added to key areas or groups in the CSS file to make the code even more easy to read and edit.

Markup

Document Type Definition (W3C Standard)

Specify the DocType preferred. For maximum longevity of the code we recommend (X)HTML 1.0 Transitional for most projects. Typically (X)HTML 4.01 should used for (X)HTML emails.

Microformats

Semantics are very important to us. If the DocType for a project is (X)HTML we will by default incorporate microformats into the markup wherever possible. Select no below if you do not wish to support the microformats project.

Comments

Notes will be added inline and related code grouped together making sure that modifications are easy to make, even months or years later.

Presentation Technique

Selecting table-based below means that layout and presentational details will be included into the markup. On the other hand, table-less uses CSS much more heavily and is the current best practice; our default.

Semantics / Search Engine Compatibility

Baked into every project is our understanding of search engine optimization. Our code is already organized in a semantic fashion, making sure that copy (text) is highly positioned in the code and advertising or other less important content (from the search engine's perspective) is below it. No inline styles or Javascript will appear in your code, presentation/user experience effects are completely seperated from the markup.

Imagery

Asset Combining

Images that are typically individual files are strategically combined into a single image file to reduce HTTP transactions; the best application of this technique is with image-based navigations (also known as the sprites technique). Reducing HTTP transactions gives better load performance and maximizes caching and image reuse — providing a better user experience and reduced server load. Select this option if you want the fastest possible page render speed and web server performance.

swfIR

Select yes below if special effects are to be applied to imagery in your design using swf Image Replacement

Advanced Options Total: $0

The following options are for those who simply wish to fully customize the coding to their own preferences to make the results consistent with their own style or take the code to the maximum level.

Navigation

Select which method of mark up you prefer for coding of navigation. We recommend unordered lists; our default.

Forms

Many coders have their own preferences for mark up of forms. Select method you prefer below. Table-less is recommended; our default.

Character Set

Normally UTF-8 is the standard character set, however other options are available, select one below.

CSS Embedding

Select the method used to embed cascading style sheets into the document. Link is the most compatible with old browsers; style is what we recommend – our default.

Favicon

Select yes below and we will create and embed favorites (bookmark) icon. These will also look great in all sizes: 16x16, 32x32 and 64x64.

We will add the meta tag required to disable the image toolbar if you select yes below.

Eric Meyer’s CSS Reset

If you use CSS Reset in your own coding, we’ll include it as well if you select yes below. The CSS Reset is designed to make modern browsers behave consistently by overriding browser defaults.

YUI CSS Reset

The YUI CSS reset is Yahoo!’s version of the CSS Reset, it’s intention is to make sure that there is a baseline behavior across all A grade browsers making CSS styling more predictable and consistent.

Preferred JavaScript Library

Select the JavaScript Library you prefer us to work with if your project requires advanced scripting functionality.

Render & Load Speed Optimization

If you would like us to analyze optimize the load performance of the code and also make sure that the render experience is usable for users even over slow internet connections select yes.
